Travelling to your appointment

Wherever possible, we recommend an active form of travel. This simply means making journeys in physically active ways - it includes walking, people using wheelchairs, cycling (including e-bikes) to name a few.

Remember – its good for you and it’s good for the planet!

Alternatively use public transport or if this is not an option there is limited on street parking (payment required).

Making an appointment

Our patient assistance team will signpost you to the pharmacy first if you suffer from any of the symptoms in the video below. This way, we can ensure that GPs’ time is freed up to provide care for more complex cases. You can walk into any pharmacies offering pharmacy-first services or contact us to refer you directly to a pharmacy of your choice.

The key benefits of Pharmacy first :

  • Skip the queue to book an appointment with a GP
  • Walk into any pharmacy without an appointment
  • You no longer need to speak to a GP for a prescription
  • Medications issued and dispensed at the pharmacy after your consultation

Patients with urgent problems will be seen on the same day. For non-urgent problems we will strive to offer an appointment within 48 - 72  hours. To arrange a telephone consultation, please contact the practice during our opening hours. You can speak to our patient assistants to book a nurse appointment or if you have an administrative query. Please note you will be signposted to alternative services such as 111 and community pharmacy once we have reached maximum capacity.

You can also submit your request online and avoid the queue on the telephone line. Please click on the image below to submit a online triage form. We aim to deal with all online request within 1 working day. Please do not use this service for anything that may need urgent medical attention.

To improve  access to GP’s, nurses and healthcare assistants we can offer appointments Monday to Sunday 8:00-20:00 at a local hub.

Other services available at the surgery include: phlebotomy (blood tests), diabetes specialist clinics, welfare and benefit advice, midwife antenatal clinics, specialist contraception services (coils), child health clinics and a dedicated health visiting team for the under fives. Our practice nurses offer appointments for: cervical screening (smear tests), family planning (contraception), ear syringing, management of diabetes, COPD, asthma, hypertension, smoking cessation support, travel advice and vaccinations.

We are part of a new pilot programme to try and improve access to primary care. This means that some local practices will act as a local hub for extended access. There will be appointments offered 8:00-20:00 Saturday and Sunday. This will be a mixture of pre-booked appointments with a doctor/ nurse or health care assistant which may be booked after speaking to a nurse/doctor at the practice.
