PLEASE NOTE there are NO doctors based in this unit.
They can only treat adults and children over the age of 2.
The unit is open 8 am–4 pm, Monday–Friday, and is closed at weekends and on bank holidays.
Last patient to book in at 3.45 pm to allow the unit to close at 4 pm.
THE UNIT MAY ALSO BE REQUIRED TO CLOSE WITH LITTLE WARNING DUE TO NHS STRIKES OR STAFF SHORTAGES.
Conditions that CAN be treated at the Minor Injuries Unit
✓ Cuts and grazes
✓ Broken and dislocated bones
✓ Minor burns and scalds
✓ Bites and stings
✓ Sprains and strains
✓ Minor head and facial injuries
✓ Minor eye and ear injuries
✓ Rib injuries
✓ Management of simple boils
✓ Simple back pain/injuries
They can also provide health advice and education for a range of injuries and conditions.
Conditions NOT treated at the Minor Injuries Unit
✘ Chest pain
✘ Stomach pain
✘ Headaches
✘ Rectal bleeding
✘ Vomiting and diarrhoea
✘ Flu-like symptoms
✘ Rashes
✘ Prescription requests
✘ Earache or ear infections
For these problems, you will need to make an appointment to see your GP, attend a local Walk-in Centre or go to your nearest Emergency Department.
