We have been advised by the National Flu Immunisation Lead from NHS England that we are not allowed to offer vaccinations to people in the 50-64-year old age group until November and December, and then only providing there is sufficient available vaccine. No appointments will be offered nationally for this age group under the NHS until then. This is disappointing, but it has been put in place by Government to ensure that those who are most at risk are vaccinated first. However, if you are aged 50-64 and are in one of the other groups which is eligible for the flu vaccination, for example you have a health condition, including conditions such as diabetes or asthma, which puts you at greater risk from the flu, you will be invited earlier, subject to vaccine availability.
